The political media company, City and State, unveiled its Westchester Power 50 List, capturing Westchester County’s 50 most powerful and influential leaders today.
Veteran construction industry executive, Ross Pepe, topped the Who’s Who's list of Westchester’s 50 most powerful and influential leaders. Mr. Pepe was listed in the top ten and ranked at number five on the exclusive Westchester Power 50 List.
Ross Pepe is president of the Construction Industry Council of Westchester and the Hudson Valley and also leads the Building Contractors Association of Westchester and Mid-Hudson Inc. Both organizations represent more than 600 local construction firms and tens of thousands of workers.
Last month, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) marked its 40th year anniversary. This significant milestone attests to the strength of Pepe’s impact and influence in building up Westchester, and in the process has created thousands of jobs for almost half a century. On October 19th, over 200 members, suppliers and leaders of organized labor gathered to honor the impressive milestone at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York.
“All you have to do is look around the county to see the results, case in point being the new Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, which Pepe strongly backed from the start. From major infrastructure projects like roads and bridges to office parks, shopping malls, government buildings and parking lots, CIC and BCA member contractors and suppliers make it happen” stated City and State.
Over the past 40 years, the CIC has lobbied for improved business working conditions for the contracting community, for additional funding for roads, bridges and highways infrastructure. Furthermore, CIC launched highly successful youth programs that offer job opportunities and careers in the construction trades.
