Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center, home of the NJ Devils Hockey and Seton Hall Basketball teams’, turned to Corporate Woodworking Inc. to design an exclusive loft area. The area had to be luxurious enough to hold corporate events, while forgoing the luxury cost normally associated with a venue of this caliber.

The goal was to offer small to medium-sized companies exceptional entertainment opportunities, while network with like-minded businesspeople in a space that offers exclusivity and a touch-of-class. To accommodate the special demands of the loft space, Carpenters from Local 252 were called upon to impart their extraordinary fabrication and installation experience.

Local 252 Carpenters were on the project from the beginning, assisting Corporate Woodworking Inc. with the extravagant, architectural woodwork required to make this 15,000-square-foot area, formerly a restaurant, stand out. Using an open space design styled after the “speakeasies” of the 1920s, the carpenters installed: two bars, each measuring 40-feet long, and in-seat service areas for VIP dining.

“We had a great staff of carpenters from Local 252 and field carpenters who were on the project from the build stage through the installation, working nights and weekends to meet the demanding schedule requirements,” said Mark Anderson, Senior Vice President of Corporate Woodworking Inc.

Despite design changes and an extremely tight deadlines, this was finished under budget and in just 10 weeks. The loft area is now open to the public.
