KML carpenters from across the region gathered this year on July 6th for KML Unity Day, an annual summer event established by Local 164 that invites carpenters and their families to come together for a relaxing day at the New Jersey shore to unwind, have a good time, and enjoy the summer. The event is currently in its third year.

“The number of attendees grows each year with 410 people attending the event this year” said Noel McGuinness Local 164 President.

In addition, they also use this event to raise money for a great cause- for the Headstrong Foundation at Nick’s House in PA. They do this through donations from Locals, contractors, and individual members and have raised over $27,000 in the past two years!

The Headstrong Foundation and Nick’s House is a center that provides complimentary lodging for out-of-town patients and their families who are undergoing cancer-related treatment in the Philadelphia metropolitan region. Nick’s House is not a medical facility, but a guest house designed to meet the unique needs of patients, families and/or their caregivers.

Fun fact: KML carpenters helped build Nick’s House in 2018!
